The Simera-C full-frame lenses, ranging from 28mm, 35mm, 50mm to 75mm (with an additional 21mm in the future), can handle most kinds of shooting situations. Equipped with a 16-blade iris and a uniform fast aperture T1.5, these lenses effortlessly produce unparalleled spatial visual impact, enhancing the immersive quality of the imagery.
Simera-C delivers a very neutral look with a tint of softness, smooth bokeh and natural edge fall-off for exceptional dimensionality in storytelling, capturing a raw aesthetic with minimal chromatic aberration and human-eye-like field curvature. Flare is subtly controlled to maintain highlight detail without compromising the image's authenticity.
The floating element design of the Simera-C series allows for a closer minimum focusing distance than most modified cine-mod rangefinder lenses, providing almost identical quality at close focus and infinity, greater texture and detail in close-ups and enhancing creative flexibility.
While the E mount is perfect for the Sony mirrorless cameras, the M mount version of Simera-C opens the way to all mirrorless and digital cinema cameras. Here is why M mount holds the future.
The Simera 21mm f/1.4 ASPH is a breakthrough in ultra-wide-angle, large-aperture lens design. Ten years after the first 21mm f/1.4 lens was created, Simera 21mm redefines what this focal length can achieve. With 13 elements in 11 groups, including advanced special elements and high-precision aspherical lenses, it achieves an impressive minimum focus distance of 0.23m.
The floating lens design ensures smooth background separation and soft, beautiful bokeh even at wide-open aperture. The lens delivers almost imperceptible distortion, minimal chromatic aberration, and sharpness from the center to the edges of the frame. It adds a rich, cinematic texture to low-light scenes and blends wide perspectives with fine details, making it a perfect tool for creative expression.
The 21mm focal length is a favorite in cinematic storytelling, known for its ability to show expansive spaces or dramatic details. From the days of Super 35 film to today’s full-frame cameras, this focal length has been loved for its calm yet slightly surreal look. Drawing on years of experience creating fast 21mm cinema lenses, we’ve brought the precision and depth of cinema optics into a lens made for everyday artistic use. Weighing just 428g, this lightweight full-frame lens combines ultra-wide perspective with ultimate close-up capabilities, giving you the freedom to shoot everything from sweeping landscapes to intricate details with ease.
Thypoch’s debut lenses, the Simera 28mm & 35mm f/1.4, first launched in 2023, made waves with their fusion of retro aesthetics and modern optical engineering. Now, Simera 28mm and 35mm ASPH type ii are available with a crescent-shaped focus tab, offering an enhanced user experience.
These new versions, compatible with Leica M, Nikon Z, Fujifilm X, and Canon RF mounts, replace the infinity-lock mechanism with an ergonomic focus tab, enabling smooth, single-finger focusing.
The Simera series is one of the very few M mount lenses designed with floating groups, which ensure identical performance from infinity to close focus. Now with a focus tab, the whole lens mirrors very well the latest Leica Summilux 28mm and 35mm lenses, ensuring precise control and optical quality.
The only major difference between the two versions is the focusing mechanism and price:
Type i (Infinity-Lock Version): Enhances stability by preventing lens rotation during installation, ensuring secure handling (639 EUR).
The Simera 28mm ASPH has a minor appearance improvement on the rear part, which is slightly thinner than Type i, giving it a more streamlined, straight-line look.
Thypoch Simera offers a new way of seeing, a window into the present. Like a portal, it transports us beyond the constraints of the ordinary, revealing a world of hidden grandeur and subtle majesty.
Perfectly compatible with Leica, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, and Canon mirrorless cameras, it prevents potential image quality loss associated with adapters.
